Dr. Angel Perez has been a valued clinician at AAFPC since 2014. A native of Puerto Rico, he graduated with honors in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico, San Juan, and earned his medical degree from the University Central del Caribe School of Medicine in Bayamón. He is double board-certified in General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Perez is a proud member of both the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Psychiatric Association.

 Dr. Perez completed his general adult psychiatry residency and a two-year fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Emory University in Atlanta. His diverse training included work at Emory University Hospital, the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Peachford Hospital, and Ridgeview Institute. He also served at two prominent residential institutions, Hillside and Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health. During his training, Dr. Perez was appointed chief resident at the VA Medical Hospital.

 Passionate about a collaborative and holistic approach, Dr. Perez integrates pharmacotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, family and individual psychotherapy into his practice. He treats a broad range of conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, ADHD, ODD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, schizophrenia, and PTSD.

 Outside of his practice, Dr. Perez cherishes time with his wife and their three children. He enjoys reading, watching films, creating bonsais, and woodworking.
